1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and TheChildrenAI (“we”, “us”), the maker of Astuzo, for the Astuzo app and astuzo.ca (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.
2. Accounts are for parents
You must be an adult (the age of majority where you live) and a parent or legal guardian, or have their permission, to create an account. You’re responsible for your account and for how your children use the Service. Children use Astuzo through profiles in your account and can’t create their own accounts. Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us at support@astuzo.ca if you think someone else has accessed your account.
3. What Astuzo does, and doesn’t do
Astuzo is a homework tutor that helps with hints, explanations and answer checking. It’s designed to support learning, not to do homework for anyone. Astuzo uses artificial intelligence, and AI can make mistakes. It isn’t a replacement for your child’s teacher, and it doesn’t provide professional, medical or psychological advice. Please use your judgement, and tell us if something looks wrong.
Astuzo is independent. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Ontario Ministry of Education, EQAO, any school board, or any other organisation named on our website.
4. Subscriptions, trials and cancellation
- Paid features require a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. Prices are shown in Canadian dollars in the store before you buy.
- New subscribers may get a free trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and renews automatically.
- You can cancel anytime in your device’s subscription settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the current period.
- Billing, refunds and taxes are handled by Apple or Google under their terms. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a subscription.
- We may change prices for future periods. The store will tell you in advance, as its rules require.
5. Using Astuzo fairly
Please don’t:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, harmful or abusive, or to upload content that isn’t yours to share;
- upload photos of people or personal documents instead of homework;
- try to break, overload, reverse engineer or get around the Service’s safety features or usage limits;
- resell or share access outside your family.
We may apply fair-use limits that normal family use won’t reach, to keep the Service running well for everyone.
6. Your content
Homework photos, messages and voice input stay yours. You give us permission to process them only to provide and improve the Service as described in the privacy policy. Photos are processed and not stored; session text is deleted after 90 days.
7. Our content
The Astuzo name, Spark, the app, the website and their content belong to TheChildrenAI or its licensors. Curriculum expectations quoted on our website are from The Ontario Curriculum, Grades 1–8: Mathematics (2020) and belong to their owner. You may not copy or reuse our content except as the law allows.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app or by emailing us. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and we’ll tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.
9. Disclaimers and limits of liability
We work hard to make Astuzo helpful and reliable, but the Service is provided “as is” and may not always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, Astuzo isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can’t be limited.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
11. Changes to these terms
If we make a material change, we’ll update the date above and let account holders know before it takes effect.
